Formula D Chevrolet Camaro SS

BR Racing by Luke Lonberger in partnership with Conrad Grunewald Racing reveal they are in the process of building a 2010 Camaro SS in preparation for the 2010 Formula DRIFT Championship competition.

“I am very excited to be able to drive such an iconic American muscle car in the Formula DRIFT Championship,” said Conrad Grunewald, driver and owner of Conrad Grunewald Racing. “Our main goal is to have the Camaro ready for the 2009 SEMA show but our preseason testing should start immediately after the show. I have a great amount of confidence that BR Racing and Luke Lonberger can build this Camaro into a highly competitive car and I look forward to getting back out on the track.”

Hankook Tire Corporation will provide tire sponsorship for the 2010 Formula DRIFT season. Grunewald announced the Camaro will use Hankook Ventus R-S3 tires on custom Forgeline aluminum 3-piece wheels. The car is to be controlled by Eibach’s Multi-Pro-R2 two-way adjustable dampers and coilovers. A GM Performance LS-A supercharged 6.2 liter V8 controlled by the AEM Universal EMS and expected to make over 600 RWHP will power the Camaro. All body work will be constructed with carbon fiber from Seibon Carbon.

The car will also be on display the 2009 SEMA Show at Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 3 to Nov. 6, 2009. The Camaro build can be followed at www.conradgrunewald.com.

Turner Motorsports E92 M3 Build

This black 2008 M3 coupe was brought to Turner Motorsports by it’s owner with only 4,600 miles on the clock. He asked them to transform his M3 from a street car into a dedicated track beast, custom built to his needs. It received a TMS fabricated “standard” race/track cage setup, MOTON coilovers, full race exhaust (with cat-delete), software, TMS Power Pulley, carbon fiber roof (car originally had a sunroof with steel panel), Forgeline 18×10″ non-staggered race wheels with 275 width Hoosiers, custom built center console, retained iDrive (strictly monitoring engine oil level and other electronic features), BMW Performance Steering wheel, fire extinguishing system, racing harnesses, baseline suspension setup, and many many more features and products. The end result: This M3 is FAR lighter than a standard “street” E92 M3, and benefits from added horsepower and torque over stock. After some track time and dialing in of both the car and driver, this Turner-built E92 M3 will be the ultimate weapon for track days.

V10 BMW E30 M3

There must be something in the air when it comes to E30 M3s as the builds I have been seeing with these cars lately have been out of control. This build is a full blown frame off restoration, but instead the factory motor the owner opted to cram in the V10 from the BMW M5/ M6. The car has some serious fabrication done to it. Supercharged Rear Mounted K20 Mini

Came across this K20 power Mini Cooper today as a friend on Motoring Underground told me about it. So far the build thread is 18 pages long and close to being finished. This build is very impressive as its using a Honda K20 motor along with Jackson Racing supercharger, mounted in the rear of the car and looking like it powers the rear wheels. This thing should be quite the little beast when its finished. Be sure to read through all the pages so you can fully see all the details being put in this car.

CBRD Time Attack Evo

As a past Evo IX owner my self I have extreme respect for this build. The guys over at CBRD pulled out all the stops when building this Mod Class time attack car. The car has 2.3 stroker along with a ton of other goodies. They took extra time to make sure only fully functional parts went on the car. Nothing for looks here, only business. Twin Turbo V8 E30

This is by far one of the cleanest E30 builds I have come across. Everything the owner had done has been done to perfection. The car has a M5 V8 in it along with a mean looking twin turbo set up. It has tons of custom fabrication and lots of high end modifications. It looks as if money is not object with this build. This is a build of a 2009 John Cooper Works Mini Cooper. The car started out brand new and in a matter of months has transformed quite a bit to the car you see above. BELGIUM VW Corrado Project

Not a ton of info on this car, but the point is to “make a EXTREME make-over of a VW Corrado” The car is built as full blown show car and has been built from the ground up. There is some seriously amazing detail in this thread and I recommend checking out the build thread to see the MANY steps that went into building the car.
